Quantum Chemistry, Physics and Chemistry of Clusters, Theoretical Materials Research, Synthesis, Characterization and Applications of Nanosized Objects (Nano-crystals, -rods and -wires and their superstructures) for LEDs, Solar Cells, Catalysts and Thermoelectrics The professorships of the Physical Chemistry within the subject Chemistry and food chemistry at the TU Dresden have a long tradition. Already in 1900 an electrochemical laboratory at the Technical College Dresden was founded. The focus areas of the work have changed considerable in the last years. Beside the Quantum Chemistry, the Physics and Chemistry of Clusters, the Theoretical Materials Research our main focus is on Synthesis, Characterization and Applications of Nanosized Objects (Nano-crystals, -rods and -wires and their superstructures) for LEDs, Solar Cells, Catalysts and Thermoelectrics. Furthermore are included in the field of Physical Chemistry at the TU Dresden the professorship for Interface and colloid Chemistry, the professorship for Special Physical Chemistry / Physical Chemistry of Polymers and the joint professorship calls for Physical Chemistry of Polymeric Materials (with the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden) and for Physical Chemistry, Measurement and Sensor Technology (with the Kurt-Schwabe-Institute Meinsberg). |
