For our manufacturing line in Dresden we are looking for a qualified engineer, specialized in the field of laser technologies, lithography, etch or lamination, to support Plastic Logic’s brand new technology. This role will require involvement in process and equipment development as well as qualifying of new products and ramping up of production. The position will be based in Dresden with a direct report to the Manager Frontend Engineering. However occasional international business travel may also be required.
Key areas of responsibilities
Ensure the establishment of process solutions that are highly productive, high yielding and competitive in cost of production
Responsible for relevant processes unit and related sub-processes
Daily trouble shooting of process problems and driving corrective actions
Execution of material evaluations and Design of Experiment (DoE)
Monitoring (SPC) and documentation of process results
Develop procedures to ensure the safety management system in close cooperation with equipment engineering
Creation of technical documentation
Driving programs to improve tool stability, process capability, yield, cycle time and costs
Providing technical training for technicians and other engineers in the cluster

Key competencies
Degree in Engineering (Semiconductor Technology, Microelectronics, Automation, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, as well as Chemistry and Physics) or a related discipline
Hands-on professional experience in semiconductor industry or a related area desired (entry level is welcome)
Background in typical patterning processes (laser, litho or etch) and lamination
Knowledge in process control and continuous improvement
DoE and SPC experience desired, experience in data analysis and visualization S/W (Excel, Spotfire)
Forward thinking and strong communication skills
Structured problem solving methodology
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Fluent in English and German
